Volunteer Opportunities

Join the group of environmentally conscious volunteers living the Stubnitz Environmental Education Center (SEEC) mission "to provide a living laboratory for lifelong learning, instilling stewardship for the natural environment." Check out the many ways to become involved at Stubnitz Environmental Education Center:

SEEC Interpretive Guide:

School Field Trip programs provide a unique opportunity for students to spend the day at SEEC, learning about environmental topics in a natural environment. The fine quality programs, tailored for each grade level, could not be presented without a very special group of people--our SEEC Interpretive Guide volunteers. We have a very dedicated and talented group of field trip volunteers, who enjoy teaching environmental appreciation and natural science to students.

I
f you enjoy working with students in grades K-6, and/or with students at the secondary level, sharing environmental information and your love of nature, we need YOU! Volunteer interpretive guides are an integral part of SEEC's high quality school field trip program. A group Volunteer Training session is provided prior to both the fall and spring field trip seasons, and individualized training will be offered, as desired.

Interpretive Guides volunteer at SEEC from 9:30-1:30 on the day of a field trip, and each volunteer may sign up for as many or as few field trip program dates as he/she wishes. Please call (or email) Pam Bunch at (517) 265-6691 for more information.

SEEC Stewardship Volunteers:

Another volunteer opportunity at SEEC involves improving our facility and the Heritage Park trail system used by our programs. Several volunteers help out by gardening, maintaining our butterfly garden and native plant landscaping. Others spend an occasional afternoon or evening working on trail development and maintenance. Some volunteers find their talents lead them to help in the arena of communications and public relations.

Another group of enthusiastic volunteers assist in the production of the Annual Dinner Auction to Benefit Stubnitz Environmental Education Center.

Perhaps you have a talent or an area of expertise that can improve or maintain the center. Please give us please call (or email) Pam Bunch at (517) 265-6691.
